Learn How We Manufacture the Highest Quality, Commercial-Grade Wooden Chairs in Ontario, Canada
O tipo de madeira importa
Holsag wooden chairs are made exclusively from 100% European Beech hardwood. Using a hardwood like beech, rather than a softwood like pine, makes a huge difference in the durability of the chair frame.
Durability is of heightened importance in the commercial furniture market. Restaurant owners, hotel managers, and medical centres all agree on one thing: they need seating that looks and feels good, and that also stands up to constant use in commercial settings. This is why we chose Beechwood to build our furniture.
European Beechwood is thick and strong, creating a frame that will stand up to years of hard use and wear and tear.
Solid Joints are Key
At Holsag Canada, we use mortise and tenon joints in every chair. A mortise and tenon joint is a classic woodworking technique used for over 7,000 years. Although labour intensive, a mortise and tenon joint creates a strong, durable connection between two pieces of wood.
In a wooden chair, the tenon (a projecting piece of wood) is precisely cut to fit into the mortise (a corresponding hole or slot) on another piece. This joint is then glued for extra reinforcement. We add corner blocks under the seats for extra strength. Mortise and tenon joints are essential in high-quality chair construction because they provide superior stability and longevity, preventing wobbling or loosening over time, even with heavy use.
Furniture made with lower quality joints (including butt joints, miter joints, or pocket hole joints) will not stand up to commercial use the way Holsag chairs will. Year after year, our frames will last. Guaranteed.
o Wood Finish Must be Durable
All Holsag chairs are hand-sanded, including between the back rungs and along the stretchers. The colour stain is hand-wiped into the wood for an even colour distribution throughout the frame. The stain is then covered with a durable, catalysed lacquer that resists cracking, scratching, and chipping.
In addition, Holsag wooden chairs feature an antimicrobial finish to inhibit the growth of micro-organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, mould, and mildew. This makes Holsag seating the safest wooden furniture on the market for assistência médica, vida sênior, e hospitality markets.
Limitless Customisation Options
Holsag provides a full custom colour matching service and the available stain options span the rainbow. We can duplicate any colour to precision on our chair frames. In addition, we have an in-house upholstery shop that provides flexible options when choosing fabrics and vinyl for our chairs.
